Smart parking, Tower rd Newquay

Hi have read the Newbies bit and downloaded the template just need some advice.
The charge notice we assume is for an overstay by 15 minutes. Arrived at the car park and found a space , dug out the parking change bag and walked to the machine to pay (machine out of order!) so genius idea thinks ' yeah download the smart parking app and pay on that'. However the data signal in Newquay is woeful at best so it takes a while to download , when we manage to open it the app decides that we're in New Zealand on the other side of the world and can't find a way to pay for parking on it anyway.
At this point we start thinking the app is a load of crap and go hunting for another machine and find it at the other end of the car park and join the queue of people as there's only one machine working. Paid for the ticket and left the car park before it had expired.
We no longer have the purchased ticket for parking so can't provide that as evidence (really who keeps hold of their tickets after they've expired?) but having read a couple of threads the company seem to reject all the appeals they receive.
We've half a mind just to ignore all their correspondence just not sure , any thoughts would be gratefully received.

Ignore could lead to a court claim with you going to your local court in front of a judge within 6 years, is that what you really want ?
If not, use the blue text template appealing as keeper, no blabbing about who was driving
Edit your post above to remove any hint of who was driving, parking companies read these forums and take screenshots
The driver drive on the day, the Keeper received the Postal notices, keep it that way
In answer to who keeps tickets, read this from a few years ago
