If I go there, I'm unlikely to see another human, but I've not been for almost two years because of the poor water levels. The fish have enough problems without me.
Our farmer friend rented me a stretch in 2017 which was expensive and easy-access, but also fairly unproductive. I soon found I was sharing with a family of otters! Nice, to watch, but ....:undecided
Currently, I have a very cheap agreement with another friend. He doesn't own the sporting rights and he's no idea who does, so he rents me the right to walk on his land with a rod! Still haven't done so, though, due to the sad state of the river.
We have a couple of large tin baths standing-in as ponds with perching places, and being dry up here, the local birds are very appreciative.0 -
Low water eh?
Now's the time to put in a few groynes to raise the water level in a few pools, reinforce the odd bank and make the best of the flow you have to keep areas of gravel free of silt. Stream management: another fascinating project!:D:D0
