NatWest Duplicating Card Transactions

grace

This morning I went to my local NatWest cashpoint to withdraw some money, and was surprised to find my account overdrawn. As soon as i got into work I checked my account online, on adding the transations I realised I was right and my account was wrong. I rang Natwest who checked the "Pending Transactions" and found all my card transations from the last two days had been duplicated by them taking me overdrawn.
That was this morning..... I rang my branch half an hour ago and they knew nothing about it, nothing from Central Banking has been communicated to them.
So I will have to ring later on today.....I feel like charging them a penalty fee for taking my account into the red....

Have the transactions actually gone through or are they just been earmarked and reducing your available balance?0

On News 24 about 1.30pm at the end of the business section, there was a story on this.
It basically stated that Natwest had been debiting the accounts of Solo card customers twice making a lot of people overdrawn. They apologised and said they would reimburse the money. They claimed it was a computer error.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

I had this happen when i used to bank with natwest a couple of years ago, it only happened with a certain online retailer that i used once a month for cat food, after the second or third time i stopped ordering from them and i didn't have the problem again.
The double payment would always rectify itself after a few days, but i didn't have much money at the time so it was annoying. In Progress!!!0 -

"Duplicate transactions normally rectify themselves with NatWest within 3 working days."
This may be correct and it was in my case, though not overly helpfull when I cant use my account to get money out, and have had to a family Christmas eving out because of it....BOI Credit Card = Was £3500.00 Now £0.00

This happened to me a couple of weeks ago (Natwest too )
I was told is was a ghost entry although it did affect my balance.
It took several days to recify itself. The took the money twice, a week apart, then two days after the second transaction it went back in as a credit so I had two transactions, one in, one out, then they both dissapeared!
