They haven't declined me. The online application does not allow me to move forward unless I have 3 years of address history. My score is fine. I just got my first 0% purchase credit card, and it's not subprime.
Because I saw many banks requiring 3 years of address history before allowing you to get a current account, I was wondering if it were a requirement set up after June 2017 (which is when I got my first current account here in the UK). Barclays will require 3 years of history, Lloyds requires either 3 years of history or 2 UK addresses.
Rather than checking each and every lender, I tried asking here in case somebody knew and could point me in the right direction.
I'm talking from my personal experience when I stated above that you can apply for and open a Nationwide account with less than 3 years UK address history, as I've only lived in the UK for the last 2 and a bit years. The rest of the required 3 year period was made up by entering my my foreign address history. I've also done this successfully for a number of other banks including Lloyds, Barclays, Nationwide, HSBC, M&S Bank, First Direct, Santander, NatWest to name a few, so I'm struggling to understand your particular issues I'm afraid.
I've just gone through the Nationwide application form. Yes, you need 3 years of address history, however the option is there to enter an address manually, to enter a BFPO address or to enter a foreign address if you have lived at your current address for less than 3 years... unless you've been homeless or something, I'm struggling to understand how you could not have 3 years history of living SOMEWHERE?0
