Thermostatic valve for radiator - worth it?

Options
Does installing thermostatic valves for radiators really make a lot differences?

We are doing house renovation and liked a high end radiator brand. Bought total six radiators from this brand but didn't realised their thermostatic valves are really expensive , I.e.£100 each. But the normal valves only cost £30 .

We wonder
1. If installing thermostatic valves is really worth it?
2. Can we use valves from other mid range brand to fit?

Our builder wouldn't want to comment much. Help…

Why would you need their brand?

Fitting tend to be universal, unless you have found some vendor with an insane connection to tie yourself nito them. In which case return the radiators while you can.

I believe part L of the building regs requires you to fit them - so you've no choice (and yes, its worth it!). As above you can mix and match valves and radiators.
  • Any valve will fit on your rads, I've never seen a £100 trv what make is it ? Pics/link ?
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
