V5 urgently needed
Hi,
I applied to change my address on my v5 over 6 weeks ago. Never got anything back and stupidly forgot about it.
Now I have agreed to part exchange the car and the dealer obviously needs the v5.
I am still contactable at the original address (parents house)
Anyone know what I should say when I phone up DVLA? Do I ask for a replacement to the original address which I can still readily access (5 day turnaround apparently) or do I say that I applied for a change some time ago and never received it back? I just really want it back urgently. I know it was stupid of my not to follower up but I genuinely forgot about it. Don’t mind paying for the ‘replacement fee’ if it means I can get in that time but I’m not sure how it will work if they have actually received it and have started processing change.
Don’t want to seem like a dodger!

Call DVLA if the new log book has not arrived after:
5 days if you applied over the phone
6 weeks if you applied by post or at a Post Office0 -
Thanks, I saw the times on the website.. I’m just annoyed as I only realised after agreeing to the deal with the dealer yesterday that I still don’t have it back. It being a Sunday I’ve spent all day worrying about it as the DVLA are closed. I’m just concerned if I mention I applied for a change of address and they haven’t started processing it yet they will insist I have to wait for change of address and this may take longer than the 5 days it would take if I were to just get a replacement to the original address.0

Last time I changed my address online I got the new V5 in about 3 days.0
