LIDL "simply" sausages

Options
Good day. (that's German for hello)

Just a quick posting about these 12 pack of sausages for about £1.09 for Lidl Supermarket.

I had them today for a breakfast, they taste vile, like chemical.

I would not recommend them at all.

The bacon from "simply" range at 92p was okay.

If you are in the Lidl Supermarket, I would just pay a bit extra for another pack. Will send them an email and tell them too.

Dankeschön

  • At only 9p per sausage, I'm surprised that anyone even expects them to be edible.

This is it , you might say they are rubbish and throw them in the bin but if everyone takes them back, then they know they are rubbish and will hopefully improve them.

    Me too.
With sausages, you (usually) get what you pay for.
I don't buy any sausages with less than 90% meat content.
Perhaps the OP could tell us what the meat content is in this cheap pack of cheap sausages.

    Choose cheap, get cheap.

I'd give the bacon a miss too.
I have proper dry cure from a butcher.

    Horse meat ? :)
  • from a quick google, it appears they are only 53% meat.
a single sausage contains 9 grams of fat and 7 grams of carbs, only 7 grams of protein. Not the best choice, but wouldn't expect much at £1.09 for 12 sausages

Horse meat is tasty, wish it was sold in more mainstream shops.

At that price, I’m not surprised they were vile.

Next time, go to a decent butcher and get some high meat content ones...much better.:T

    Lin :)
You can tell a lot about a woman by her hands..........for instance, if they are placed around your throat, she's probably slightly upset. ;)

These are from Lidl, 95% meat and the animals are outdoor bred.

Deliciously meaty, slightly spiced sausages which expand when cooked rather than shrink!
