Is this a fair charge?

Hi guys, I understand that it is sensible to appeal for clearly unfair parking charges, but what about if the car was parked at a private place where cars need to have permit for about 2 hours. Week later I have received 2 letters for 2 parking invoices that I have to pay the charge.
I wasn't the driver of the vehicle, is there anything that is left for me to do, like if it was too dark at night to see the signs or something.
The company is ParkWatch, I still think multiple tickets are excessive, is it even worth appealing though?

That's what this forum is about!!

Everyone is asked to read up on this in the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum before starting a new thread

Go there now to get an understanding of the game you are now caught up in and how to deal with this

Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving

You need to edit your OP to remove details of who was driving

The ppcs monitor this forum and can use posts in your thread against you in Court

if they have followed the law named POFA enacted in october 2012 then as keeper you have liability

if they failed POFA, the keeper has NO liability , especially if the keeper was not the driver

    ignoring them would be foolish

the methods to appeal them and reasons for appealing are all in that NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread you need to read

if the default daily tariff is £100 or less then it has been the norm for about a decade and the Supreme Court ruled that £85 was not unconcionable (not excessive) so you will find it hard to argue the daily charge

no landowner authority and poorly lit and inadequate signage are the 2 main legal arguments

    Ignore the advice from Computersaysno

(Were this ruse the solution there would be no need for this forum!)

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
