Horizon Parking at Sainsburys Oswestry

Received a PCN from Horizon Parking yesterday. We use this supermarket weekly and never had any issues since the new parking cameras were installed. It seems that the incorrect exit procedure may have been not been followed exactly - either wrong reg acknowledged or failed to press finish. Spoke to parking gentleman today who advised to go instore and speak to a manager. Ian one of the managers sorted out the situation and has rescinded the fine. Seems they have anumber of these and policy seems to be to cancel them for regular customers - beneficial to have a receipt for shopping. Good customer service. If anyone has a genuine problem at this supermarket just approach a manager to sort it out.

The new parking terminals there were causing issues last time I went in. There didn't seem to be enough of them and they were confusing people.

The new Morrisons might grab a fair bit of their trade.

I do not know why large companies do not do some research on these scammers before they sign the contracts.

Good morning TD. UKPC not involved in this thread. The PPC was Horizon. :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • I've also just been sent a fine of £70 for 45 mins parking whilst shopping at Sainsburys. I didn't know I had to buy a ticket / get a receipt. Very shocked. Phoned manager who said as I hadn't kept my shopping receipt they couldn't help.
Do I have to pay the fine?
