Hi all,
Missed payments with TalkTalk. No notices of s default sent to me. Spoke to the advisors who said pay £170.53 and the default would be removed. Every advisor I spoke to said it would be removed but has not been removed. Emailed the CEO who gave it to their assistant who said nothing can be done.
Is this right? Where do I stand here? Nothing was sent to me regarding this.
Thanks,
Callum

Paying accounts doesn’t justify defaults being removed.
They probably meant the account will stopped being marked as defaulted but the original default will still remain.0 -
Call centre staff are not always clued up on how these things work.
There are three reasons why a default can be removed from your credit file, either :
(A) the account didnt default in the first place,
(B) you had a payday loan complaint, or other mis-selling complaint, upheld, and default removal was a part of the redress,
(C) a simple creditor goodwill gesture (which would have to be in writing to be valid).I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. you needed it in writing! Always get it in writing.
But i guess what you can do is SAR the phone call recordings from the person who said that about the default being removed as evidence0
