Home Insurance

Recently I caused accidental damage to our living room and hall carpets when I knocked over a tin of paint while painting a door. Carpet in both rooms will need replacing. Thing is my other half has decided she’d prefer wooden flooring now instead of the carpet (which will be more expensive). I have home insurance with Admiral, could I make a claim with them and receive a cheque for damage rather than replacement and put that towards the floor the wife now wants?

Bare in mind your premiums will increase for the next few years to compensate for the claim.

    Is it worth claiming?
