VW main dealer discount ?

No idea, they dont like cash/bank transfers really - try and get a discount for their finance and settle within 14 days.0

That sounds steep. In March purchased a Tiguan R Line with £2k+ factory fitted extras, 4k miles and registered August 18 for £29k and a cash purchase. No negotiation on price as the main dealer sourced it for us direct from VW UK (head office company car) and they (and we) knew it was the only one available with a manual gearbox within 100 mile radius.0

Your should be able to haggle 5% off if the car is not rare. 10% off takes more effort, but can be done if you are tougher than the sales manager.
If you know the car you want and have the cash, visit the dealer first thing tomorrow and tell them that you will buy the car there and then for £26K if they complete the deal in 10 minutes. tell them you have to be at your Mum's at 10am. Don't discuss the price. Just look at your watch if they mention price. Then walk out after 10 minutes regardless of the stage they are upto. I bet that they sell you the car for £26K before you can make it out the main door. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
See if you can get a cheaper price off Carwow and they will probably match it.0

Does anyone have an idea how much discount from
the asking price I could possibly get ? I’m looking
at a 2017 VW Tiguan for £28 k. Wondering what offer they might accept, if paying by bank transfer ?
Thanks
Compare it to the price of other equivalent cars nationally and see where it stacks up.
I'd rather have £10 off a car costing £10,000 than £1,000 off the same car at another dealers costing £11,000.
Suggesting bank transfer isnt going to make them give you any extra discount. They'd refuse that amount of cash for money laundering reasons.
BUT, £28K on the face of it sounds a lot for a 2 year old Tiguan.
What specific model and engine combination is it?0 -
