Ex-Solarplicity customers wrongly switched to Toto Energy - MSE News

Well, it's one month since my erroneous Toto bill.
Have phone calls and letters made a difference?
Have I received the £30 compensation offered?
No, I have received another monthly bill from Toto and have a steadily rising balance.
They are not my supplier and never have been. This is such an utter shambles, with Toto clearly about to go under I can see I could shortly have two different official receivers trying to chase me for totally fictional debt.
This Solarplicity/Toto shinanegins can never be allowed to repeat itself. I still don't really understand the legality of any of it. Producing bills for a service not provided is FRAUD, there is no other word for it. Maybe I should be contacting the police as Ofgem can't be bothered to do much.0 -

Well.... You are doing better than me. Had a "bill" from them last month (wrong tariff, wrong gas->KWh conversion) for £50. Several demands have since followed, but no corrected bill. Yesterday, a new demand for £200. No bill, no explanation of how the amount was calculated, just hollow threats.
I eagerly await them taking me to court - I'll file a counterclaim for all the switches they have unreasonably objected to, and seek compensation to boot.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Well this shambles continues.
As I've said earlier I was wrongly switched to Toto and this was promptly reversed.
Toto are continuing to bill me monthly with fictitious bills based on erroneous reads (as they are not and never have been my supplier having succesfully reversed the 5th Aug switch)
The Solarplicity administrators have sent me some paperwork claiming to be my final bill from Solarplicity - with meter reads which may as well be the result of rolling dice - which states a £98 credit balance which will be transferred to EDF and then paid to me, apparently.
Toto piped up last week claiming another supplier has been in touch and I will be transferring away from Toto in a couple of weeks. Transferring away from someone who doesn't supply you in the first place could be a challenge. Maybe their incompentence is going to bring in another supplier just for a laugh, who knows? Attempting to phone is a waste of effort.
So, a fictitious credit held with one company on its way shortly.
A fictitious and growing by the month debt with another company.
A possible third company getting involved.
And maybe Toto's administrators* getting in touch soon, too.
Meanwhile, I am thankfully paying my real energy supplier monthly and bills and readings are all accurate and up to date, so I have all the paperwork in place to ensure Toto are not getting a penny.
* - I might be jumping the gun here but Toto's probably going to go to the wall at the end of October unless they magically find £4.5 million, which requires a lot of their erroneous and illegal bills getting paid rather quickly to make that a possibility.
Is this what was envisaged for competition in the energy market?0 -
Toto tried to take over my supply (I had switched from Solarplicity to a new supplier).
I managed to get it stopped before they took any money by informing my new supplier and cancelling the direct debit.
Apparently this makes me ineligible for the £30 compensation.
Now I am glad I am not in the same situation as others on here in that they didn't get any of my money, but this really is a mess.
I have contacted EDF, they have no record of my account as having come over from Solarplicity as part of the administration.
So I am sat in a black hole with no final bill. Luckily it is either about £20 in credit or £20 in debt only, but that's not the point, it's the principle that I am caught in a big fat mess that no one seems to be taking responsibility for and I am spending time and effort to sort myself.
I had some good advice form Citizens Advice, so I am likely to go back to them, but this really is a complete mess and of course there is little to no publicity so nothing is getting sorted, they only sort things when it effects their public profile.0 -
So this farce goes on.
I switched away from Solarplicity in April.
I was erroneously switched to Toto in August, promptly reversed.
Toto bill me monthly for a fictitious energy supply.
Solarplicity administrators have informed me last week of a fictional credit on my Solarplicity account.
EDF write on Monday (as the Solarplicity SOLR) confirming they will send he a cheque for my Solarplicity credit referred to by the administrators.
Today I get an email from EDF advising they now supply me as they are the Toto SOLR.
The joy goes on...0 -

Toto record keeping is questionable at best. They've probably sent over a load of duff information to EDF so they will be working with false information. Hopefully, they are on the ball and better at resolving complaints promptly and without a fuss.Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –

Stuart I have had a SOLR email from EDF despite being well advanced in my transfer away from Toto.
I am interested how you managed to get it reversed?0 -
Agghh!!! Shambles now repeats itself.
I have just received an email from EDF with my new account number and my online account details.
I have been through this once when Toto erroneously switched me.
I left Solarplicity in April. Erroneous switch to Toto in August and now erroneous switch to EDF in November.

You are entitled to compensation for both erroneous switches. Probably too late to get anything out of Toto, but EDF should certainly pay for the latest.
