New Abbey Credit Cards Not Sent Out !

Options
Hello,

My first post on here.

Well over 2 months ago I applied for one of the new Abbey credit cards, the one with the extra cash back for shopping at supermarkets until the End of Jan 08.

I was made aware of this card by emails from this site, I immeadiately applied online to save time.

I was accepted, but I have been waiting for my card, over 2 months has elapsed.

I have contacted then several times including today.

Today they have stated due to demand they are behind on sending out the cards & cannot state a delivery time at all.

At this rate the extra cash back insentive will be totaly lost!

WHAT A CON!!!!

After applying for this card I sent for another one from a different company (Capitol 1, cashback), I have since received the card, started to use it, even got my first months bill over a week ago! If one company can do it with a popular card how come the other cannot?

I have sent the form for the Abbey cashback card on the 2nd of october, and I got the card at the end of october. I did read somewhere that the people applying online had a lot of difficulties receiving the card.
Abbey is undergoing a lot of changes at the moment (not for the better), and since the Abbey bank was taken over by Santander, they are transferring everything to the Santander system and a lot of problems appeared all over the place.
I have problems of my own with the card. First I asked if they could decrease my credit limit, and they said they don't have the facilities to decrease or increase any credit limits.
Then I asked for them to send me all the passwords and security numbers to manage my account online, that was 3 weeks ago, and I never got them.
So I'll have to call them back.
In your case beware that with the postal strikes your card might have been sent and lost in the post, even if they say they didn't send the card yet, they might have send it and the answer you had was read from a script.
They told me 3 times that my debit card had been sent, but it never was, so don't believe everything they say.
At the moment Abbey is not reliable, so if I was you,for the time being I will stay clear from them.
And by the way, welcome to this forum :grouphug: :kisses:
  • A friend of mine has had to phone Abbey several times to ask where her replacement credit card is. They keep saying they have sent it to her, but it hasn't arrived.

She found out recently that it had been sent to an address she has not been living at for four years. They say it was a computer error. Fortunately no-one has tried to use the new card, but its very worrying, especially as her husband's card was sent to the correct address.
