Must I cancel return flight?
Comments

There's no need at all to cancel, nothing to gain by doing so (except partial tax refund), and the airline will be unconcerned.
There's always a chance that the flight will be cancelled by the airline or changed to the extent that they have to offer you a refund or alternative date. Or your own plans may change again to enable you to travel on that date.
Best advice.:cool:0 -
Tickets won't be repriced to a one way. I've cancelled return flights many times at work with various airlines. Plans change, dates change, sometimes it's cheaper booking a new flight than changing the return!
As others have mentioned you can get a small tax refund on the cancelled flight. May only be like a tenner or something depending on the flight cost. It then gives the option for a seat to be open on the flight for someone else.0 -
I wasn't looking for a big monetry return.
But we did cancel BC with Vietnam Airlines and they refunded half the cost of our tickets.
I was more concerned at an airline thinking we had cancelled because the return with a big discount was cheaper than the one way and then imposing some sort of censure. It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0
