I took out a Nat West Mortgage Protection Policy with Commercial Union Assurance in 1982. Is it worth contacting Nat West or CUA to check for PPI? Thanks.

A product called a "Mortgage Protection Policy" in 1982 would more than likely be just Life Insurance, probably a DTA..

Yes, a Mortgage Protection Policy is a life policy. It only becomes payable on death.

CU didnt sell PPI. There is also a clue in their name. They were a life assurance company. Not a General Insurance company (that had a different name).

Life assurance is not PPI. Any more than your house insurance was.
