Need to up my credit!

Hi guys,

Need to build up my credit and currently have no debts or loans.

Was thinking of getting a credit card (aspire money) to help my credit.

Has anyone tried them?

Any credit card will build history the same way.

Try an eligibility checker to see what you might be best suited for. Your own bank or someone like aqua are normally safe bets.
  • You want to help build a credit history, not a fictitious score or rating.

Use an eligibility checker to see what cards you may be eligible for

As above, the goal is to build up your credit history rather than your "score" or "rating" - these numbers are not seen by anyone except you and are not indicative of creditworthiness in any sense. Any credit card will do the job here - I would recommend using an eligibility checker to see what might be available to you. I haven't heard of or used Aspire money, but there are plenty of sub-prime lenders (eg. Aqua, Marbles, Capital One, etc) out there who will do the same job here.

Aqua are fine , and with me I got upgraded to a "b etter" rate after about 18 months , so its no worse than any other card (18.9%) I also now have a 0% card too .

The OP hasn't mentioned a "score" or "rating" at all.

Check the eligibility checkers for Aqua, Vanquis or Capital One - those are generally recognised as good choices for building up a credit history.

Why don't you get one with your current bank? You have history with them.

I just had a quick look - aspire money isn't a credit card - it's a loan company - so you won't be getting a credit card from them. Have you been with your own bank a long time? As has been said above - you could try applying with them - or as I mentioned the three for credit building are Vanquis, Aqua and Capital one.
