Cancelling Now TV

I was gifted a Now TV (Sky) two month free trial. There was very little that I found to watch, so I wanted to ensure that they did not hit my card (which they require to START the free trial).
Nothing on the Now TV website about how to cancel (very cynical).
So I go on "live chat".... Please delete my account. Reply: we have cancelled your pass.

Me- No, please cancel and remove my details. We have removed your mailing address.

Me: No please delete my card info. Answer: OK, We have done that.

Me: so I get no more emails from you? Answer: We have a problem with that but you can unsubscribe.

Me: there is no unsubscribe link on your emails. Answer: We know about that, we are working on that.

Such a slippery company, I'm sorry I ever used them. Vent over.

But there is? This was at the bottom of the last email they sent me last week:
Click here to unsubscribe from NOW TV emails. If you are a Sky customer and no longer want to receive other marketing emails from Sky, head to Manage Account on Sky.com.

Pretty easy to stop and start your passes through the website account. Nothing slippery about them at all in my experience.

I found it really easy to cancel with no need to have a live chat or anything else to get the job done - even the retention discounts are offered without need to speak to anyone - wish more were like that.

I've found it easy too - just cancel in your account settings. You'll get an offer to stay but just ignore if not interested.

Last email I had from them was 29/7 and there is an unsubscribe link underneath the Facebook/Twitter etc logos.

I think you’ve made it difficult for yourself. You just needed to login and cancel your pass. Takes about two minutes.

Exactly, what better way for the consumer to be offered retention deals that are so simple to pass up if you don't want them.
even the retention discounts are offered without need to speak to anyone

You cannot moan about companies offering retention deals when money saving sites such as this constantly say things like 'ring up and say you want to cancel, and theyll offer you a better deal!'

The reason I got Now TV was it's simplicity over packages. I put Sky Movies on my Sky account one Christmas, something I can do with Sky online or via the box. Unfortunately to cancel that you need to call sky and run a 45 minute gauntlet of begging you to stay.

With Now Tv I can add sky movies and cancel it with a couple of clicks. So so much simpler.
