Has anyone else noticed that Android Aqua Mail (free version) has increased the number of pop up ads - making it impossible to use - they are constant ?

Doesn't look like many people here use it - why do you?

If you find it is a good app, as I do, but don't like the ads, why not pay for the fully version? I've been using it for years to consolidate email from a number of accounts and have not had any major issues. The developer was very responsive to a query I had, so overall it was money well spent.

    Regards,

Try K-9 Mail, it's free and open source.

K9 mail has problem background syncing - ie it doesn't seem to do it at all on some phones - including my Nokia.
Sometimes it says syncing disabled and has to be manually synced.
I've given up making it work propperely....
No one seems to know exactly why though on some phones changing some settings seems to fix it - allegedly
There seems no intention or interest to fix it globally
  • A number of the reviews are reporting the same:
    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.kman.AquaMail&hl=en_US&showAllReviews=true

Looks like you'll need to either pay for the pro version or move to a different app.

To be fair to the developer, it might be the ad network which has changed the format of delivered ads, rather than the developers active choice.

    Horrible ad ridden app :(

Personally, I wanted an app to read emails from a spare gmail account set up for a function - it seemed to have good reviews!

That's what I use for all my other email - it works a treat. :)
  • My wife uses it on her phone and tablet, a bit shocked to see the prices now for the pro version.

She has the pro version and I can't remember how much it cost but it was pretty cheap then (long time ago) and she uses it on multiple devices. It is regularly updated at least.

We now consider that small 1 off payment in the past a good investment!

Personally I use K9 which works perfectly for me.
