Reclaiming Deceased Spouse’s PPI Nine Years After Death

Options
Hello,

I recently heard that I could claim PPI from credit agreements entered into by my deceased Husband who passed away nine years ago. I have looked online at how I can go about claiming back any PPI and I would need to access his credit report. The problem is, is that my Husband had many different credit agreements throughout his life and I really would not be able to remember all of the policies he had taken out.

Will a credit report show all of the policies, or would I have to contact banks, loan providers etc. to see if I could submit a claim? (I don’t think I have all of the paperwork from the agreements too)

Thanks

A credit report would show info for the last six years, Your husband died nine years ago. His report would therefore be blank.

And unlikely any lender would still have info.

Not nine years after his death.

Understand that you would be making a complaint about mis-selling, not "submitting a claim". Nine years on, your only realistic complaints would be for finance for which you have documentation in your own archive. What are your complaint reasons?

Thanks for your advice about this! Just to check can I use the online Resolver tool through the MSE website to submit a case on behalf of my deceased Husband, or would I have to send a letter to the lenders?

I don’t know if you can still use Resolver on someone else’s behalf if I put it in my Husbands name???

    Thanks

Resolver is of no use to you when complaining about PPI on loans your husband had.

Resolver doesnt work well when it is the executor of the estate complaining and not the individual. There is no way to put two lots of details in.

Go directly to the banks to complain, ask them what they need from you to prove you can complain on his behalf.
It's likely that there are no records left.
