Budget notebook [Merged]

Not really sure if this is the right thread to post on but ah well.
I have made my out 'budget planner' notebook, which i use every month to track my money - how much i have left to spend each month after paying bills etc. ( a few other but included)
Does any one know how i can get it designed properly and companies i can pitch it to? :)

I would love for other people to be able to use it too! I fond it so helpful and there isnt really any notebooks like it around.

Any advice is greatly appreciated
Thanks

Once upon a time people used paper-based methods of budgeting, such as during the success of Filofax in the 1980s.

Then spreadsheets became significantly more popular in the 1990s.

In the 2000s websites like this one started to gain traction, offering practical assistance and templates via the likes of https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/Budget-planning/

And then in the current decade, smartphone apps started to corner the market, including many that integrate directly with banks and other institutions to avoid manual data maintenance.

Against that backdrop, how would you go about convincing sceptics like me that you've stumbled on something revolutionary and unique with a genuine market, rather than something really basic that happens to work for you?

From what you describe, this sounds like a business opportunity you are trying/hoping to get off he ground?

Are you looking to make money off it or just share your idea with others for free?

If it's the former I'm afraid there isn't much market for paper based budgeting tool. eskbanker already listed the main reasons. It will only attract Luddites and technophobes, an audience extremely difficult to market to and I doubt any company will bother for such a small market.

Sort of in the middle would be a kickstarter / indiegogo type of self marketing if you want to offer an actual notebook and cover your cost.

If it's the latter, you can probably scan the pages and publish them in PDF so anyone can print them out and use them.
  • A notebook????

You're at least 20 years too late for a product like that, a simple spreadshet is the best way of doing this.

If you could build a smartphone app for those who prefer prodding a 6 inch touchscreen to using a proper computer you might be on to something.

Do you mean 'notebook' in paper form?

Or 'notebook' as notebook computer, i.e. laptop?

I am not sure what you need, but there are mobile apps for personal budgeting.

  • Whatever this is, don't confuse people by pitching it as a 'budget notebook'!
