Just wondering would I be better waiting until nearer the end of the month to trade my grand c max 1.6tdi in. Would I get a better deal with the new registrations coming out then?. Also has anyone ever taken one of those machines that pick up fault codes,to try it on a car they are interested in buying.?
Thanks

Depends what your trading it in for. New car? They may have plenty of buyers wanting the new plate so your bargains maybe the pre reg cars sitting there now on the older plate.

Used then they will have plenty of choice, depends if its main dealer stock or something older/cheaper.

    Swings and roundabouts.

I've taken an OBDII reader and my laptop with me to read fault codes. No reasonable dealer will object, but be aware that the fault codes can be reset, and may only reoccur after a period of driving. Taking the car for a reasonable test drive is a must; then retest for the fault codes.

It's not a panacea. I still managed to buy a car with failed valve seals because I don't drive it far enough for the engine to get properly warm, and for the oil to start being burnt. Take someone with a keen sense of smell when buying cars!
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.
