Dent on audi a3 boot
Hello,
Drove into the lamp pole protector while reversing into a space at shopping centre car park   now there is quite nasty dent on the car boot. This needs now fixing and wondering how big of a job it would be and how much money I will now need to splash out. Worth going through insurace or just cover out of my own pocket?

Yes, it's a big job. I don't think that'll straighten out sufficiently so probably looking at a new boot door and a bit of plastic repair and paint on the bumper too.
Might be worth looking on ebay or Audi scrappers for a replacement.0 -

Agreed. A second hand boot lid would be the answer there. You might get lucky and get one the right colour.
Looks like a 2014 ish model?

A second hand boot lid will be by far your cheapest option.
Theres maybe 1/2 day stripping the old lid off, rebuilding the bits in to the new one and refitting, so approx £100-150
Damage to the bumper is maybe £100-200, assuming it can be worked at in situ and they can get away with blending it in.
I'd budget about £350 plus the price of the boot lid.
You might get away with £250-300 all in, but i'd budget around £350.
Find a small, local, reputable body man, rather than heading for one of big players.0 -
Thank you for the advice. Will pop into few garages in the area to get some quotes.0
