If you have to call BA, do NOT call the premium rate 0844 number.

Since 13 June 2014 it has been illegal for premium rate 084, 087 or 09 numbers to be offered for after-sales enquiries and issues.

BA does now have compliant 0344 numbers but the old premium rate 0844 numbers are still very prominent. If you call the 0844 number there is no announcement to say that you should have called the cheaper 0344 number.

Anyone who has called a premium rate 084, 087 or 09 number to discuss an after-sales issue at any time since 13 June 2014 is entitled to a refund of the call charges.

Calls to 084 numbers incur an Access Charge (set by the caller's phone provider) of up to 15p per minute from landlines, or up to 58p per minute (up to 65p per minute from 19 August 2019) from mobile phones, PLUS a Service Charge (set by the organisation being called) of up to 7p per minute.

Calls to 03 numbers are simply inclusive in allowances on the same basis as calls to 01 and 02 numbers. For those without an inclusive allowance, calls to 03 numbers are charged at the same rate as calling an 01 or 02 number.
