Empire catalogue from 1990's

Options
Does anyone remember a catalogue, which I think was called Empire, from the 1990's?

I have found information relating to Empire stores/ Littlewoods but not specifically Empire catalogue. Is this definitely one and the same?

Also, I have read information about catalogues before 2005 being pre-regulation. Does this mean that I shouldn't bother to pursue a claim as my association dates to the 1990's?

It's pre-regulation where sold by a third party or broker.

The other issue is that there won't be any records from 40 years ago.

The 1990's is "only" approaching thirty years ago, of course. ;)

I wrote that post from 2029, so I was right. :)

Thanks for the replies. So as it wasn't sold by a third party, I now understand that it is worth making a complaint. Now I just need to know who exactly to complain to. The resolver tool doesn't list Empire catalogue. As I said before, I have seen Empire stores mentioned but I am not convinced they are the same as Empire catalogue.

Has anyone made a complaint against Empire catalogue that could advise at all?

Not if you have no documentary evidence of this PPI.
As pointed out already, if you have no evidence there is not going to be any elsewhere three decades on...

Don't use Resolver so late in the day, any complaint needs to now go direct to the seller not via a third party e-mail template...

    Littlewoods is now Shop Direct
  • Just a quick question?

I presume you are looking to complain about PPI as this is not mentioned in your original post.

With no documentation and nothing other than your exceptional memory to rely on, don't expect the outcome you hope for.
