Nationwide Flexplus account management

Trying to find out if you can just open an account and pay £13 per month in and enjoy the benefits.

Or do you need to use as an active account and have direct debits going out, for example?

If you needed direct debits on the account, Nationwide would spell this out. If you needed to use the account as an active account, they would first need to define what makes an account an active account, and then also spell out that this is required.

    Hi,

I have looked at the website and can see no mention of having to have DD on the account to get the rewards so you can just use the account or not if you pay the account fee.

Yes, you dont need dds. But the 3% perk is being ended soon.

As above, there is no requirement to actually use the account - all benefits are valid as long as the monthly account fee is paid. With the soon to be removal of the 3% interest rate though, I would recommend shopping around to see if you can get the benefits this accounts offer cheaper elsewhere.
  • As others have stated the 3% is ending soon.

However if you open a joint account, for the sole £13 per month you EACH get the breakdown cover, travel insurance and mobile phone insurance making it worthwhile.
