Using old kettle

Hi,
Moving house soon and am wondering if it would be safe to use an old kettle rather than buy a new one? Shared housemate's kettle whilst living in my current home so can't take that but I have a lovely stainless steel kettle of my own which I would like to use in my new home, the only issue is that I haven't used the kettle at all for around 3 years and it's just been sitting in the corner of a cupboard all this time.
I'm wondering if it would be safe to use this kettle again and if so, does anybody have any tips for safe cleaning of the kettle?
Thanks :coffee:

It'll be fine. If it's heavily scaled then white vinegar or citric acid will clean it up nicely.0
