Non-bank payment protection on bank loan - eligible for PPI claim?

Hi all,
I used to have a personal loan with first direct which has been paid off.
During part of the life of the loan I had PPI with first direct for which I have already received a refund. However, for part of the loan's life I had "salary protection" insurance (in case I became unemployed) with a third party provider. I do not think this would be included in a PPI claim against the third party provider but would someone be able to confirm?
Many thanks!

What makes you think there is anything wrong with having PPI like that? You can still buy standalone cover today. That is one of the good types of PPI.0
