Making a will

Hi all
My partner and myself need to make a will. Not many assets, only cars and house and small amount of savings. Have a 1 year old child and another on the way if relevant.
I'm always quite keen to do things DIY where i can and i know you can buy will writing kits. My question is should i just go to a professional for this? I don't mind saving money or doing things myself where i can but don't want to do something wrong around something this important.
Have many people written their own wills? How difficult was it?
Thank you

Where you are trying to make life straightforward for those left behind, especially if those include under 18 year olds, get professional help.
Hoping you live for decades & outlive whomever you nominate as Guardian in the event.0 -
A solicitor will go through lots of scenarios with you - if you and partner should both die who would look after the kids (as they get older the answer will change) - if ' say, your partner had been married but not divorced then you might get nothing.......................Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

You might want to use this scheme:

DH and I used it a few years ago. Your wills sound fairly straightforward.
It's in November which isn't ASAP but perhaps if you make an appointment now it means you wont put it off.0
