Periodically my laptop decides it doesn't like certain websites eg britishgas.co.uk and Dunelm-mill.com
just after the site appears on the screen I get a message box come up that says Internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close..there's a bit more then 2 boxes which say send report and don't send. There are also bits which let me see what the reort will say....nothing in words just loads of numbers and letters
All my virus stuff etc is upto date and a scan is done everyday and never finds anyting untoward
Has anyone else had this problem, should I worry, is there anything I can do to prevent this happening again
Please give any help in simple non techie language Thanks

Try emptying the browser cache, as follows ...
Top menu in Internet Explorer - Tools - Internet Options
Temporary Internet file section
Delete Files button - click it
Also consider using CCleaner, a utility that clears all sorts of temporary files left behind by various programs ... http://www.ccleaner.com/

I'm not saying this is your problem but sometimes these non responding errors happen with newly added plugins, I'd get the latest flash player from the adobe site, skype likes to substitute phone numbers for a direct skype link, I've had to turn that off in skype options because it sometimes messed up my browsing, the new real player likes to add the "download" option to all videos on a page....all these handy gadgets are a good idea but they can knacker your browser, go to internet options/programmes and manage add-ons see whats running, if you dont like what you see disable it, I hate firefox browser but it's worth giving it a download and try these sites again, it may suit you or work better for you if you can't get any satisfaction from explorer. There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't...0
