Passbook accounts for children

Does anyone know of any banks/building societies etc that still issue passbooks for children's savings accounts?
I want my kids (6 and 9) to start saving, but surely they need to be able to see what they are saving and how their money is growing? Internet savings and annual interest statements just seem to miss the point when you are trying to encourage your kids to be sensible with money!
TIA

Nationwide's child Future Saver pays 3% if you have a main current account with them (or 2% if not).
If the you/they make more than 1 withdrawal per account year the rate drops to 0.5%.
Although the child gets a passbook the adult can also view and transfer money via online banking.0 -
I think Skipton BS has passbooks for many accounts, depends if they have a branch near you0

Do you have a "local" building society?
They may well offer a passbook for the child account and possibly a higher interest rate for local children.Or do you have a Virgin store close by?

Thanks for those suggestions.
We don't have a "local" building society, unfortunately.
All of those other suggestions have branches nearby, so I will definitely investigate further.
Thanks again.0 -
