Prepaid Virtual Credit Card

in Credit cards
I have £25 on a prepaid virtual credit card that I got through doing surveys.
However, the last time I got one, I don't think I used it properly as I spent £20 on something, then £3.98 on it and so there was £1.02 on it that got wasted as I wasn't able to use it on anything even as part payment.
Now I know it not the hugest amount of money, but I was hoping to avoid similar with my newest virtual credit card.
Is the only answer to spend exactly £25 with on it on something? From what I have found in the past, even if I try and buy something over this amount, I was not able to pay the balance with another credit card.

I usually pay the full balance into my bank account. You can try topping up your Amazon balance or using it to part pay an in store transaction if they are prepared to type in the number.0

Top-up Revolut with it?
The pre-paid card from TopCashBack didn't work that way though. I had to top-up Amazon. First top-up does a £1 card check, so top-up £1 less than balance, then top-up the remaining £1 a week later.
Could use it for something you're going to pay off anyways, perhaps pay £25 towards your council tax, water or electricity bil online?0 -
I like the idea of putting it in my bank account. Didn't even realise I could do this. How would I do this via internet banking?
Also re Amazon. Didn't know I could do this either. Again, any tips on how to achieve this?
I wouldn't mind using it for part payment of something, but I just remember when I tried doing this last time (think it was Tesco online order), it wouldn't let me do it.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Not sure if you can do it or not because it's classed as a credit card but have you tried adding it to your paypal, then transfer the money on the card into paypal balance where you can then just withdraw it into your linked bank account?0

The simplest free way to liquidate these things I have found is to just make a payment for the exact amount on the card into my British Gas account online. The value then just gets put towards my next gas bill, and the Direct Debit is reduced accordingly.
I would imagine any utility provider who accepts manual ad-hoc card payments would work similarly well.0
