I guess this has been answered lots of times before but there are so many forum posts would take ages to trawl through them all. I would like to check my own and my mothers history for her but neither of us have any idea what banks or lenders we have used in say the last 15 years. I am happy to complete all the paperwork using your tools but the first step is to know which ones to write to (or should we just send a letter to them all?!). I tried your credit history check but for me it didn't go back very far. I am happy to pay for one if it goes back much further - say 15 or 20 years? I have a feint notion that banks only keep records about 10 years or less and destroy your records though. Any help on this first stage would be appreciated as I see the deadline is approaching.

You cannot pay someone to research your financial history because it is not in the public domain.
You've also left it very late to start your own such research.
All I can suggest is that you contact each likely lender directly and ask them if they have any record of you..0 -
And be quick about it. You need to get an answer to your queries and make a formal complaint before the deadline not just ask them for information.0

So basically contact them all then...0

So you cant get your credit history going back then from anyone? Had hoped for more helpful answers.0

If the answer is "no" or "no record" then there is nothing more you can do.
Even if time was not of the essence, you would still have a gigantic obstacle to overcome.
Sorry if that's not "helpful", but it's an accurate assessment of your situation.0 -

No one here knows who you had accounts with, or whether they had PPI policies attached. You're correct in post #4.0 -

It may be more helpful if you read the Data Protection Act (340 pages) or the General Data Protection Regulation (Similar number of pages)......or you could just accept the helpful comments already posted. Which are correct by the way!I work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!0
