Odd payment

Tonight I checked my bank account;
Tomorrow I am due ESA of £618.40 today they paid me £319.20 DWPJSA x 2

Obviously can't tele them now till morning, I have a feeling we have seen this before, but anyone any ideas? There has been no change except that I am currently moving from DLA to PIP, which I assume has nothing to do with this???
Thanks as usual in advance

    DLA to PIP will not be anything to do with it. You have obviously been paid a one week payment rather than the normal fortnightly amount. Like you I recollect this coming up before but, also like you, I cannot remember the explanation.
    Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
  • They actually paid £319.20 in two separate payments making a total of £618.40 but a day early ???

    Possibly a software glitch. I think the last time something like this happened was at Christmas.

    I have a feeling here that a decision may have been made on the PIP. Lots of times when this happens it can cause issues with a benefit like SDP, which you're receiving.

    As DLA would have ended then it would have briefly affected the SDP/ESA. Someone noticed the problem and rectified it and manually paid the ESA, which is why the payments say JSA rather than EESA.

    I know you've receive the report for your PIP, which they usually go with, as you know. A quick call tomorrow will put your mind at rest.

    £319.20 x 2 = £638.40 though? not £618.40?

    Me and my maths again i'm afraid.

    The amoutns aside, it's something like, when the payment processing deadline has been missed for whatever logistical reason it goes through as a fast payment and that's flagged as JSA rather than ESA on the statement - just because of the system used.
