Possibly a stupid question ???

Options
However , after what date would not be worth pursuing regarding missold / plevin ppi ? Some say after 2009 companies wouldn’t have still been operating underhand with regards to PPI, others say earlier , others say later ?

I’m looking back at old credit I’ve taken where I no longer have paperwork to check if ppi was included and trying to decipher at what date do I not go beyond . For example I had finance through Mercedes in 2014 and I’m not going to bother pursuing whether I had ppi on that agreement or not as by that time I’m assuming companies would’ve been transparent about it ? Or am I mistaken ?

Any help , warmly appreciated.

The credit agreement needs to be in force after 2008 (some fall under 2007).

Insurance regulation started in January 2005. That is when things improved. Some distribution channles never missold PPI and you can still buy some types of PPI today. You cant have a black and white answer as it varies with distribution, company and PPI type.

That type of PPi was not sold in 2014.

Most stopped between 2008 and 2012.

The majority ceased towards the earlier of those years.
Banks stopped selling credit card and loan PPI in 2009 and most other sellers followed suit shortly thereafter.

Even the "stragglers" who continued tightened up their selling procedures in the later years..

Nowadays, only Mortgage PPI is still widely retailed...
