Work capability assessment

Does anybody know how much the work capability assessment amount gets backdated by please?

My wife has been disabled since last November and that's when she provided her first sick note but the decision to award my wife the limited work capability assessment has only just been granted

If the decision is limited capability for work (LCW) then there's no extra money and no backdated money.

If the decision is limited capability for work and work related activity (LCWRA) then she'll receive an extra £336 per month. This will be backdated to the 4th month of her claim, from when she sent in her first fit note.

You need to check the online journal to see exactly what the decision was.

If it is ESA your wife is on then if she has been placed in the Support Group it is backdated to the 14th week of the claim.

If it is Universal Credit your wife is on and she has been found to have LCWRA then the LCWRA element is backdated to the fourth assessment period.

If she has been found to have Limited Capability for Work but capable of Work Related Activity then there is no extra money.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.
