BTW I agree you should only go to the originators site but in cases like this there is obviously a flaw in that argument! - for the record Filehippo is quite safe type "spybot filehippo" into google to see what I mean
Also they have a smashing app called filehippo update checker which looks at software in your system and informs you of the latest updates etc... Great stuff!
Sounds to me like the OP went to one of the mirror sites (nothing wrong with any of them AFAIK) and clicked on one of the sponsored ads etc instead of the actual program download. It's happened before on this thread with people complaining "you told us it was free!!" etc but they hadn't actually downloaded the program at all but clicked on some advert instead."She is quite the oddball.
