Is my PPI award fair?

I claimed missold PPI against a mortgage.
I only recently realised we were still paying premiums on a policy taken out in 1997 for a mortgage redeemed in 2001 when we remortgaged with a different lender.
I immediately cancelled the policy and submitted my PPI claim.
I just received an award letter upholding my claim, but it only covers premiums paid up to the original mortgage redemption date.
Should the insurance provider be liable for the life of the policy beyond this?

No, the insurance provider never sold you anything.

If you are unhappy with the compensation offered, take it to the ombudsman.

You are responsible for cancelling your policy. Ask them nicely for the payments back, they may refund, they may not, and they are not obliged to.

Is this a Plevin award?

It wont be an upheld missale complaint (as that is all premiums paid). It isnt a complaint outcome about premiums paid after redemption. So, the only thing I can think of is Plevin as that only applies whilst the debt existed.
