Joint uc claim

His just a quick question if anyone can help?
Me and my partner both had single uc claims, we recently moved in together and made a joint claim and have a appointment today to go through our details and check it's all correct.
Does anybody know if we will have to wait 5 weeks again for our first joint payment or does the amount get re calculated and we'll get paid as usual on the same date.
Thankyou :)

You’ll get paid on the usual date for one of you. I can’t remember what determines which payment date is used and I can't find the relevant guidance at the moment. If I find it later I’ll update.

Update: The new payment date will be the earliest of the two previous payment dates.

E2134 Two single UC claimants become a couple – digital service
Two single UC claimants who ceased to be entitled to UC when they became a couple (in a digital service area) will be entitled to a further award without making a claim. Where that further award is made without a claim the new assessment period will begin on the same date of each month as the assessment period for whichever of the previous awards ended first.

Looking at your initial post I note that you said you ‘made a joint claim’. Do you mean that you started a new claim? Each of simply needed to report the change to DWP.
