Dishwasher query

My Bosch dishwasher has a 45 degree wash that takes only 25 minutes, do you not have something similar? For years, I would use the long programme but now I find the quick wash quite satisfactory even though the machine goes on only every other day. I only use the long programme every 7 to 10 days now. Maybe worth giving it a try?0

We use the vario speed button on our Bosch, which brings the time down from over 3 hours to 1 hour 37 mins. Which for some unknown reason is exactly the same time as the setting we use on our Bosch washing machine.
My dishwasher doesn't have that setting.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

In fact, when two taps are running the flow is reduced.
Anyway my question has been very well answered above.
The dishwasher won't be drawing hot water if plumed in properly.
Which model?0 -

Which model?
I didn't suggest that it's drawing hot water, I just wondered about its green credentials when it takes so long.
Davejp and Essexexile explained that well. And I have thanked them

Strangely the manual has no times. I rang Bosch to ask about times only to learn that the shortest was 2+1/4 hours. I can't remember which setting.
I will try that 45. However, as I said I wondered how the green credentials worked.

My manual doesn't give times either, but by pressing various buttons on the display panel, you can see what time each programme takes.
Bosch's explanation of the eco function, taken from their website:
It's surprisingly simple, with the longer wash cycle, the water doesn't need heating up as much when compared to shorter programmes. Plus your dishes are soaped longer, which means your dishwasher doesn't need as much energy to clean them as other programmes. That's how we save energy and decrease water consumption.0 -

That's interesting, Julie.

Are you absolutely sure you don't have the vario speed button, it's usually a picture of a clock with 2 arrows underneath. They may gloss over it in the instruction book as it's not the 'green' option, don't forget the emphasis on the eco function is to get the A rating!0

I'm absolutely sure. The picture of clock on my model includes the letter aitch to chose a delay time.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
