I read it, but it doesn't change anything.
I should have stopped reading here; When we asked about the other boarding pass (Singapore to KL) we were not told anything, I am assuming as we check-in online.
What is that? You mean that they totally ignored you when you asked? Really?
They would have told you to pick it up in SIN if they couldn't print it themselves.
If, as you say, you checked in online, why didn't you print the boarding pass for the JetStar portion then?
It seems to me that you are simply trying to pass the buck to Emirates and ground staff, when in fact that it was totally your fault.
You failed to obtain a boarding pass whilst checking in online and then claim that the check-in staff totally ignored you on your asking about the boarding pass from KUL to SIN.
Yes, you were a 'no show', because you didn't have a boarding pass for your flight. If, as you wrote, you checked in online, you could have shown them your boarding pass on your mobile phone.
So to me, part of your story is blatantly untrue. If you checked in online and didn't get a boarding pass, there is no way that you would not have raised it at the airport. To suggest that they told you nothing is patently ludicrous.0 -
The long and short of it is, that they failed to obtain a boarding pass for the second sector of their flight. So they missed it and ended up having to pay a 'no show' fee, before Emirates re-booked them on the next flight and re-instated the whole of the rest of the booking.
Now the OP is trying to pass the buck to someone else for their own failure to obtain a boarding pass.We checked-in online through the Emirates app. At Brisbane Airport we were provided with one boarding pass (Brisbane to Singapore). When we asked about the other boarding pass (Singapore to KL) we were not told anything, I am assuming as we check-in online.
When one checks in online, you get boarding passes, that you can print or send to your email address/mobile phone.
The OP is silent on this.
Then they claim that they asked about the missing boarding pass and were told nothing. They most certainly did not do that at the start of their journey, as it is simply not believable that the check-in staff at BNE would not respond when asked about the missing boarding pass.
There was definitely no
.miscommunication between airport staff, Emirates and JetStar
Random airport staff telling you at which gate the JetStar flight departs, have nothing to do with you failing to obtain a boarding pass for your flight, especially as you claim to have checked in online.
There was no miscommunication on the part of Emirates, since you clearly did not ask them about the boarding pass at all at BNE. If you did, they would have told you to pick it up in SIN.
There was no miscommunication on the part of JetStar, you simply did not have a boarding pass. Neither from checking in online, nor from the transfer desk at SIN.
Stretching the truth in order to try to pass the buck will not be successful. You need to prove that Emirates were negligent in not providing them with a boarding pass.
No mention of why they did not check-in for the second sector with JetStar whilst checking in online in the first place.
I can understand that the OP is upset about having to pay a 'no show' fee, but it isn't the fault of the airline, nor airport staff.
As an aside, I too made a similar blunder.
I purchased two low cost flights LON-STO & STO-BKK, as it was ludicrously inexpensive and for one reason or another, totally forgot to pick up a boarding pass once in STO. I spent all of the time getting something to eat.
So turned up at the gate with no boarding pass and no time to get one. Happily the girl at the gate sorted it and printed one out for me there and then. Kudos to Norwegian and their staff.0
