Joined AA membership on 22 July 2019. The terms say:
The Member has the right to cancel their AA membership Breakdown Cover within a 14 day ‘cooling off period’, commencing either from the agreement of the contract (which is the renewal date for renewing Annual or 2-year Cover) or the receipt of the relevant membership documents, whichever happens later.
When I joined there was a question:
We'll send your membership card by post. How would you like to receive your other documents?
There were two choices, email or post. I selected 'email'.

Did receive an email from AA on 22 July with an attachment 'Policy Documents.pdf'.

This is actually the terms and conditions booklet. The email itself has the start date (22 July 2019), renewal date (22/07/2020), Registration number of vehicle (not telling you this), level of cover, membership number etc...

So, does the cooling-off period begin from the 22 July? Because both the date when the cover begins and the date when I received the membership documents are the same.

If so, today is the 13th day of the cooling-off period, is that correct?

From July 22nd which was your date of contract.
Are you making typos with August 22nd?

If I had chosen to receive other documents by post, then cooling off period would have started from the date I received documents?

I remember seeing on the AA website that it can take up to 28 days to receive the documents via post, so decided to receive them via email.

I received the membership email on Mon, July 22, 2019 at 7:44 PM. Does this mean the 14 day cooling off period ends on Mon, August 05, 2019 at 07:44 PM?

I would say that yes because you entered the contract with them when you paid, however,it would probably be easier to ask them.

Actually, I made payment at around 2:30 PM (I know this from the date/time stamp of the screenshots I've kept.) The email with membership number, start date, expiry date was received at 7:44 PM.

Anyway, I called Customer Support just now. They said I have till 8 PM tonight (that's when the call centre closes for the day) to cancel.
