Hi All
I am wondering if someone can help me , I work away monday to friday and have to rent a room in a house as where i work is over 200miles away. My wife sadly is terminally ill and up till recently we was getting housing benfiet which helped as she was on low money and i had just started my job at 18k. Now they have taken the housing benfit away from us saying the house earns to much. I do get tax credits but not a lot. I am wondering if I can claim anything back and from where of having to rent a place to live while working away ?
Thanks
Ryan

If you are only on £18k AND paying for a room 200 miles away, the only question I have is Why?
Surely you will be better off with a lower paying job locally?0 -
Sadly it took me 6 years to get this job so I guess you could say the chance to work and hopefully provide a better life for my wife while I still can.0

Is your wife claiming PIP?0

Hi
Yes she is on high rate pip0 -
My advice for what its worth would be to get a benefits check from e.g CAB and see if its really worth you working away all week when you have to rent to do so, if the job is 200 miles away I assume its a 4 hour drive there on a Monday same back on a Friday? if your wife is terminally ill maybe this is the time you should be at home as much as possible?0
