Hello all, complete newbie here and also not very good at using or understanding everything in forums language.
A keeper received a very distressing Parking Charge Notice today demanding £100 or £60 within 14 days yet find it so unfair which has brought me here in desperate help because the letter say's a parking ticket had not been purchased, but it had, the ticket was displayed next to the disabled badge, '(yes a disabled driver). The keeper was just ''11 minutes late that day due to the disabled person nearly passing out from the extreme heat on that day which was up in the 30's. The son who was present sat the driver down outside a shop near to the parking area which he then had to queue in a shop to get me some water, hence why '11 mins late back to there car 'hence the parking charge notice from EURO CAR PARKS, UK. It has the name, address plus 2 pictures of photo evidence of (only) the number plate on the letter. Letter stated the info was given to them via DVLA, it also shows the arrival and the exit times. Please does anyone know if an appeal can be worth doing so or just pay the £60 penalty for being '11 mins late?? This is causing great distress because the £60 money will be the weekly food shopping money.. does the keeper stand a chance of not having to pay this charge. Please, Please advise, asap, kindest regards with many thanks.

Throughout here you are advised never to reveal who was driving
You need to edit your post to remove details of who was driving
If you have used your real name as your forum name then you need to get MSE to change it to something anonymous
The ppcs monitor this forum and can use posts in your thread against you in Court
Get an understanding of the game you are now caught up in by spending time reading up on this in the newbies FAQ thread near the top of the forum
That also gives advice on how and when to appeal this0 -
As a complete newbie - your first step must be to read the Newbies Sticky - thoroughly and carefully.
This will inform you fully and explain the steps you need to take now.
Also, to echo Quentin - you need to get your OP edited to remove any identifying info - esp if your username is also your real name.0 -
Service providers are required by law, (The Equality Act 2010), to make "reasonable adjustments" to cater for the "protected characteristics" of the disabled. One of these could/should be allowing you extra time, did you inform the PPC that you are disabled? Read this

Have you approached the landowner for cancellation.
Given the circumstance you describe, if this were to go to court, imo you would have a very good chance of winning a counter claim for disability discrimination should you lodge one. This could be quite costly for the scammer. Others more knowledge may disagree but I would suggest a sum of £500 for the stress and failure to apply the law.
Also, as nine times out of ten these tickets are scams, consider complaining to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Please name the parking company, and the country where this took place ?
Also the date of the incident and the date the Postal notice came through the letterbox, so we can see if it complied with the law called POFA
Alternatively count the days from the incident to the ntk arriving, to see if it's more than 14 days0 -
Hello and Thank you very much for your information and to answer one of your questions, i have not approached anyone yet although the keeper did try to ring them but the letter to the keeper has only a phone number on it just for making payments for the charge. Other than that they show where you can go to appeal the notice charge, the appeal has not been started yet because advise was needed first, coming here was to find out if the keeper stands any chance to lose the appeal for they will charge £100 if appeal is lost plus there fees and just £60 if payed within 14 days.. all this just for going over time limit of '11 mins on parking charge is just awful and taking ones food money from them because the keeper is on a tight money budget.
Once again Thank you very much for any input.0 -
