Can I solder LED lights?

We've a set of solar powered LED fairy lights, but the thin wire had broken half way along, meaning 25ft of the lights do not work. If you touch the break together, it works again.
Can the break be soldered, or any other kind of fix? The 2 ends need to be touched 'face to face' to make the circuit, rather than just joining the wires?
Any ideas please?

Yes solder the wires together. then cover with insulating tape.0

Remove a short stretch of insulation from each of the broken ends. Twist the wires together, and solder them.
Taping the joints will probably do. Heat shrink tubing would be neater. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
