Time scale for default removal?

How long is appropriate to give a company to remove a default?
I have a letter dated 10/6 which states all adverse information relating to this account will be removed, but its not happened. My report updated yesterday, but its still showing.
I've called and been told there are 'no time scales' for removal......?!

Defaults are removed 6 years from the date they were applied0

Clearly not read my post.
The company are removing it due to irresponsible lending, so the 6 years doesn't apply in this case.0 -
Clearly a poorly worded post.
In that case it’ll be a month or 2 as they only update the CRA’s on a monthly basis.
And your snapshot credit report will always be a month or so behind.0 -
Not really, but whatever.
Thanks for your reply - however as its coming up to 2 months and I've not had an alert that's somethings changing, I'm not going to hold my breath.0 -
On the account on your file, what does the “last updated” date say?0
-
July 24th on Equifax.0

Up to you if you want to chase it up.
Presumably they’ll next update August 24th so you can either ask now or wait and see come the next time they update.0 -
I have chased it. I get told that they've emailed the department that updates the CRA's but had no response.... I'll wait until 24th and see what happens.0

Are you checking your 'live' statutory snapshots of your files, as opposed to Credit Karma, Clearscore or MSE CreditClub? It might be updated on the 'live' versions.I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.
I love my job0 -
Yes, I get alerted when there is a change
I use Experian and Equifax.
