Why do you say that about flexible hoses, they are used all the time these days
They are, and they're also one of the most common points of failure. I've used one once when there was no other way to connect the tab than taking out half the kitchen.
OP: You'd be amazed how quickly it is to pick up pipe soldering after a couple of videos - assuming you don't plastic fantastic everything. Just look up a few videos of each task as you come to it.0 -

Not to dismiss your experience but all the rental places I've stayed in the last 20 years all used flexible pipe for tap and never had any problem. Perhaps the lesson is to get a quality make one rather than cheap one?0 -
