Push Fraud at Starling Bank

My client was defrauded out of almost £2,000 by scammers operating an account at Starling Bank. At this stage the possibility of complicity between an employee of Starling Bank and the scammer cannot be ruled out. Starling Bank have supposedly signed up to the new code of practice covering Push Payment Fraud but they are trying to dodge responsibility so this is a matter to be investigated by the FCA if it is a weakness in the internal controls and management at Starling Bank. It will be interesting to see what Anne Boden has to say next.

Its a bit pathetic if an internal fraud can only liberate £2k. Since they will need to run for the hills when discovered, thats not going to take them far.
  • Why sign up to post this then give such scant details? You’ve not asked a question, so I may as we’ll speculate wildly.

It’s not fraud, but if he explained to his wife what he’s blown their money on, again, she’ll go all Lorena Bobbit on him, hence the tall tale.

OP I've not had issues with starling personal or business accounts, do you work for their competitors by any chance?
