Residential parking ticket - permit

Hi All,
I have recieved a Parking charge notice for £100 (Was 60 if payed within 14 days). I had a permit displayed (my residential car park), but it had fallen down so was partially not visible. I appealed and the parking company said they would respond within 28 days. I recieved a response letter (by email) after 30 days saying the appeal was unsuccessful, but they would accept £60 for 14 days from that letter.
The parking company is part of the IPC, so I don't believe POPLA is an option and I've heard IAS is pointless.
What would you recommend I do from here? Do I have enough basis to keep fighting?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

You ignore the parking company and their debt collectors from now on. Only respond to a court claim or a Letter Before Claim, or equivalent.
Meanwhile, are you renting or do you own the property? What does the tenancy or lease say about parking? Do you have an allocated space, and if so, on what basis? In all likelihood, you are already granted permission to park without the PPC, so they are adding nothing, apart from a lot of aggro.0 -
That seems to be the general advice. My worry is that they take me to court and I'll end up paying over double the £60 offered now, what are the chances of this happening?
I am renting. The lease does not mention parking. There is no particular allocated space but each flat is given a resident and visitor permit for the car park (my one being the resident permit).
Thanks!0 -
Most of these "own space" claims will fail in court as the lease/AST already give the right to park, no permission is required from a third part scammer. This is known as primacy of contract, read this

It all depends on the wording of your lease/AST.
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
