Hi all,
Just looking to see if anybody has come across this before, before i notifiy my solicitor.
Was involved in an accident in May - not my fault, Geoamey Prison Van rammed me!
Have just noticed that after i logged it with my solicitors and they raised a case, the 3rd Party insurers (MS Amlin) have credit searched me?!
Anybody know if this is standard practice?
Thanks for any advise!

Insurers probably have a process they follow over any claimant
Not a lot you can do. Though a complaint will satisfy you as to whether or not they were entitled to do this without your pernmission0 -
Are you sure it’s a credit check rather than an Id check?
I would have thought it’s the latter which won’t harm your creditworthiness.
I thought they needed permission, but not sure if this I given in ts&cs somewhere in connection with a claim.0 -
Can only see it on my Clearscore so cannot see what type of search it was. Can see they used Crif though who seem to be in the Credit circle rather than ID.

Use a better provider then. All the decent ones show what type of check is made. ID checks are by far the most common when it comes to insurers.0
